i’m frustrated that my brand-new 3D printer is leaving stringy 3D prints. could be the ambient humidity, could be the PLA is old or accumulated moisture from the basement studio we’re in. i have tried lowering the temperature in the settings by 5° C, but it still looks stringy:
i admit a small part of my enjoys the aesthetics here, it’s like the jewelry is emerging from a spider’s web. but can i leave it as such? no. so there is easily 30+ minutes of filing, sanding, and gently cutting with an X-acto knife to get the strings out. i admit i like this tedious work, it’s like sculpting, it’s like caring for the piece. it’s not just a print-and-be-done-with-it, i have to coax the piece into being what it wants to be.
