Marketing agency McKinney had a highly specialized process in place for arriving at brand insights from customer data. It took senior strategists significant time and effort to visualize the data, using many manual processes to collect and compare brands against a competitive set. The challenge was to create a web-based application that could leverage AI to automate data assembly, generate clear visualizations, and output insights about the share of attention a brand has in the marketplace.
As the UX designer for the project, I conducted stakeholder interviews, refined the user flow, identified use cases, and created wireframes and components for major app states. My Figma prototype used realistic data, accurate UI elements like multi-select search, and simulated all key aspects of creating and editing a brand attention model.
Following successful internal testing, I documented my work for handoff to the dev team and outlined a copy deck. This project moved quickly, going from idea to MVP within a matter of weeks. Strong collaboration with the Product Owner and Development Leads made this a success. McKinney CEO Joe Maglio lauded the project: “BrandAI has been a game changer for McKinney and our clients."
