The pola necklace is named after my paternal grandmother. The design is my version of a parzenica, a folk pattern used by the mountain people of Poland. This motif was originally a series of embroidered knots used to keep the cuts in mens' woolen pants from fraying. There are many variations, but a heart shape is something all parzenicy share.
Each piece is 3D printed in my East Village studio, then lovingly sanded, filed, and varnished for durability.

The mila earrings are named after my maternal grandmother. Like many women of her generation, both Mila was skilled in sewing, crochet, and embroidery. I celebrate this tradition by using plastic filament to “embroider” designs based on Polish folk patterns.
